Anyone can send you a list. What we offer is narrower and, we think, far more valuable: a trip built entirely out of places we have been, roads we have driven, and rooms we have slept in. Everything on your itinerary exists because one of us has already tried it.
The restaurant we actually ate at
Not the highest rated one, the one we went back to twice. We tell you what to order and what time to arrive so you are not eating at six with the tour groups.
The boat tour we took ourselves
We know whose boat is small enough to reach the cove that matters, and which operator simply moves a hundred people around a bay. There is a difference, and you feel it all day.
The drive worth doing
We plan by rental car, always, because the best hours of our trips have happened between two places. We give you the road, the hour to be on it, and the stop halfway.
The room with the right view
Two rooms in the same hotel can make two different holidays. We have slept in these places. We ask for the one you would want, by name and number.
The Alternative
Booking blind online
You read forty reviews written by people who want something different from what you want, book the room with the best photograph, and find out on arrival which details nobody mentioned. It usually works out. It rarely becomes the trip you talk about for years.
Being moved in a group
A cruise or a coach tour gives you four hours in a port and a photograph of a place you did not really visit. We do not plan those, and we never will. Our trips are yours, in your own car, on your own clock.
